(DMRS), an incorporated ministry of the Diocese of El Paso, is an immigration law clinic providing free or low cost legal services to eligible immigrants who wish to immigrate to or become citizens of the United States. Border Servant Corps provides a Crime Victims Caseworker to DMRS.
Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey
("Christ the King Lutheran Church") belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Located in the heart of a low-income Hispanic district in central El Paso, Texas, Cristo Rey ministers to people on both sides of the international border. The worshiping congregation provides an inclusive place for cultures to meet and share their gifts. Border Servant Corps provides a Border Immersion Program Coordinator to Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey.
Kelly Memorial Food Pantry
Kelly Memorial Food Pantry provides food to families in El Paso who are struggling to make ends meet. Their mission is to give a sense of food security and hope by providing nutritional basics and encouragement to our clients. They work hard to meet the needs of our clients and send them away with a full basket of healthy food. BSC provides an Assistant Case Manager to the pantry’s Fresh Start Program.
Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center
Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center provides high-quality legal services to low-income immigrants and advocates for human rights. BSC provides a Legal Assistant to Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center.
Latinitas is a non-profit organization focused on informing, entertaining, and inspiring young Latinas to grow into healthy, confident, and successful Latinas. Our mission is to empower Latina youth through media and technology. BSC provides an Outreach Volunteer to Latinitas.
Opportunity Center for the Homeless
The Opportunity Center for the Homeless supports homeless individuals to move beyond their condition if they are capable; or protects them if they cannot improve their condition in society because of emotional or psychological disorders. The Center strives to create a system of care for the most needy among this population. BSC provides a Case Manager to the Opportunity Center.
Las Cruces, NM
The Beloved Community Project
The Beloved Community Project offers support to young adults with intellectual disabilities in Las Cruces, NM. Instead of relying on traditional service programs, the project seeks to engage existing community resources and build upon personal capacities so that participants may achieve their goals. BSC provides a Project Coordinator to TBCP.
Doña Ana Communities United
Doña Ana Communities United builds the capacity of communities to develop and implement policies and community-based solutions that improve social, economic, and environmental conditions that shape health and life opportunities BSC provides a Program Coordinator to DACU.
La Casa Inc.
La Casa Inc., provides comprehensive services, including shelter, in order to diminish domestic violence and abuse in all forms. Their services are available to ALL individuals, regardless of race, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. BSC provides an Education Specialist to La Casa, Inc.
Mesilla Valley Community of Hope
The Mesilla Valley Community of Hope promotes dignity and empowerment among the homeless population by providing case management, disability and income assistance and permanent housing. BSC provides a Coordinated Assessment & Camp Hope Outreach Coordinator to the MVCH.
Many of our previous service sites have been able to hire full-time workers as a result of working with Border Servant Corps. At times, these service sites begin new programs and will request a new volunteer to make this growth possible.
