Meet Meg Brauckmann
Baltimore, Maryland ■ Eastern Mennonite University
Hi folks! I’m Meg Brauckmann. I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland but have called many different communities home. I graduated a couple of years ago from Eastern Mennonite University where I studied Peacebuilding and Community Development. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to live in Central America, participate in an interfaith justice & farming program, and work with families impacted by incarceration, people experiencing homelessness, and youth. I was drawn to the Border Servant Corps because I see it as a continuation of my journey to respond in love and resistance to systemic injustice. My own experiences with No More Deaths at the US/Mexican border and supporting the immigrant/refugee communities of Baltimore have helped me to understand the way our stories, struggles, and resilience are woven together. I am excited for the transformative experience I know this will be and to form relationships of solidarity and support as I learn from the people of Las Cruces & El Paso. I will be serving with The Beloved Community Project and they have already made me feel deeply welcomed!
